Cloud services engineer Tom Keane began his career as a software engineer, working on early versions of Unix and helping to develop many of the first commercial software applications. He later transitioned into management, becoming one of the first executives at Sun Microsystems. At Sun, Keane was instrumental in developing and launching the company’s flagship product, Java.

After leaving Sun, Keane held senior positions at several other major tech companies, including Microsoft, Amazon, and Google. He was one of the key figures behind Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform and helped launch Amazon’s Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2).
